Michael Powers, Architects’ Co-Partnership (1963-64)

I spotted these three houses whilst out taking photos of Keble’s Hayward Quad and De Breyne Building. There they were, hidden behind an old stone wall, on the opposite of Blackhall Street.

As you can see (or not) – these houses are not easily visible from the street; but they are part of St John’s College and were designed by Michael Powers of the Architects’ Co-Partnership – who was responsible for the Beehive Building, also at St. John’s.

These three houses are of brick and concrete construction, were Grade II listed in 1998, and provide accommodation for Fellows of St. John’s. Lucky Fellows indeed, to be living in one of these…
